SCCs – A revamped ‘Safeguard’ for cross-border data transfer
Justice Commissioner Didier Reynders has said the European Commission will adopt revamped standard contractual clauses on Friday June 4, 2021, Reuters reports.
“We have incorporated some elements of transparency (and) accountability in full compliance with the (EU General Data Protection Regulation),” – Justice Commissioner Didier Reynders.
Reynders added that it will be the responsibility of organisations to “see if they only use SCCs or put additional safeguards like encryption and pseudonymized personal data.”
