The CIPP/E course provides a detailed introduction to the EU GDPR, and a full overview regarding how to plan and implement a continuous compliance programme. It enables delegates to fulfil the knowledge requirements of a Data Protection Officer (DPO), Data Protection Manager and other privacy professionals.

Course Outline

At the end of the sessions, delegates would have gained knowledge of:

1. The origin, institutions and legislative framework of European data protection law.
2. the European Data Protection Law in order to demonstrate their understanding of:
   • The data protection concepts
   • The principles and application
   • The processing criteria
   • The obligations
   • Data subject rights
   • The confidentiality and security requirements
   • The notification requirements
   • Cross-border data transfer mechanisms
   • The supervision and enforcement
3. Delegates would also be able to demonstrate the application of European data protection practices related to:
   • Employment, surveillance, direct marketing and outsourcing
   • Internet technology and communications, including cloud computing, search engines and social networking
